In recent years, the government's support of economic activity in our country has had a positive effect on the dynamics of economic development, and the protection of macroeconomic stability has been the focus of attention. Also, the factors of high economic development determined the investment of a large amount in the non-oil sector of the economy.
Along with all this, against the background of the development of the non-oil sector in our republic, more importance was given to issues such as increasing the competitiveness of the economy, increasing the export potential, prioritizing the social policy, strengthening financial discipline and transparency.
This is reflected in the indicators that President Ilham Aliyev gave in his speech at the meeting dedicated to the results of the six months of this year. Thus, among the priority areas of the non-oil and gas sector during the reporting period, which is notable for the continuous and faster economic growth, added value is 11 percent in the non-oil and gas industry, including 15 percent in the non-oil and gas processing industry, and 27 percent in the transport sector. , increased by 86 percent in tourism and public catering, and 14 percent in the information and communication sector. The dynamic development in industrial zones also attracted attention, production increased by 53 percent in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, special importance was given to the maximum realization of the country's industrial potential. Thus, as a result of continuous supply of necessary raw materials and energy resources, a number of state and private enterprises, for example, "SOCAR Urea", "SOCAR Methanol" and "Azerfloat" worked at full production capacity.
In addition to all this, against the background of high economic growth rates in the country's economy, as well as the acceleration of the implementation of investment costs of the state budget, including the implementation of large-scale construction and restoration works in the territories freed from occupation, the real growth rate of investments in fixed assets entered the positive zone in the first half of the current year compared to previous months. has been Due to the influence of the mentioned factors, the real growth of investments in fixed capital in the non-oil and gas sector was 18.5 percent. Due to the influence of these factors, the added value in the construction sector increased by 8 percent in the 6 months of the current year compared to the same period last year.
In general, all the socio-economic successes achieved were related to the dynamic development of the country's economy and the consistent nature of the reforms. At present, the main task of economic reforms is to ensure diversification of the stability and competitiveness of the country's economy. For this purpose, a number of important decisions were taken in the direction of expanding entrepreneurial activities, further improving the investment and business environment, improving the legislative framework, carrying out institutional reforms, and providing comprehensive support to entrepreneurs by the state. Thanks to all this, Azerbaijan has become the fastest and most stable developing country in the world in recent years.
The listed indicators once again show that during the last six months of the year, our country has successfully developed and the tasks set in all directions have been carried out at a high level. In his speech, the head of state pointed out that the economic potential plays an important role in the implementation of large-scale reconstruction and reconstruction projects in the social and military fields, as well as in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, and said: "Of course, the economy is the basis for all these works. Economic independence has been achieved, and precisely because of this we have achieved political independence, we have achieved independence at the international level. No one can influence our will, no one can dictate anything to us, we do not depend on anyone and I am sure we will never depend on anyone. If we were dependent, Karabakh was under occupation until today.
In his speech, the head of the country emphasized that the economic strength is not only related to the increase in the price of oil, but it is also achieved as a result of the implemented multifaceted reforms. For example, reforms in tax and customs areas have had a positive effect on the acceleration of sustainable economic development and, as a result, on the expansion of financial opportunities. This, in turn, ensured the more successful implementation of state policy in the social sphere.
In his speech at the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the role of the tax authority in the budget revenues as a result of the recently implemented reforms, and pointed out that the budget revenues increased to a great extent due to the transparent activity of this institution and the reforms. The head of state also emphasized that the additional incomes received are primarily directed to solving social issues and improving people's well-being.
Regarding all this, the head of the country said: "Reforms carried out in the economic field made it possible to collect 2 billion manats in addition to the forecast in the field of taxes in 6 months. Why? Because there is transparency, there is honesty, there is accountability. A few years ago, the business circles were given a respite so that they could go on normal tracks and give up the shadow economy. Those who patronized them were also taught a lesson, as they say. Therefore, only the tax authorities collected 2 billion manats in 6 months and we use it. There are still about 6 months to the end of the year. This is the main factor of our financial and economic opportunities."
Speaking about the successes achieved in the economic field, the President of Azerbaijan mentioned the need to analyze this issue in two aspects - economic growth and growth of the non-oil economy. At the same time, he emphasized that high results were achieved on both lines, that the economy increased by 6.2 percent, the non-oil economy by 9.6 percent, the total industrial production in the industry by 2.1 percent, and the non-oil industry by 11.5 percent. said.
