Meeting Held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation with European Champion Madina Sadiqova

A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) with Madina Sadiqova, a coach-instructor of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Sports Organizations Association (AHIITA), who won the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg category at the European Karate Championships.


During the meeting, AHIK Chairman Mr. Sahib Mammadov emphasized that the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle are among the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development strategy, which is being successfully implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.


It was noted that the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation actively supports this social policy by consistently implementing initiatives aimed at increasing participation in sports and promoting physical activity throughout the country.


The participants were informed that athletes representing AHIITA won a total of 306 medals in various competitions in 2025. Madina Sadiqova’s gold medal was highlighted as another remarkable achievement for Azerbaijani sport. She has made history as the first Azerbaijan female karate athlete to become a European senior champion. This outstanding accomplishment by the AHIITA karate coach-instructor was described as a source of pride not only for Azerbaijani sport but also for the entire trade union community.


European champion Madina Sadiqova shared her joy at winning the title and spoke about her sporting journey. She noted that the extensive opportunities created for athletes by the Azerbaijani government, together with the support provided by AHIITA, have played a crucial role in her professional growth and success.


Expressing her gratitude for the attention, recognition, and support she has received, Madina Sadiqova stated that she will continue to work with determination and dedication in future competitions, striving to ensure that the Azerbaijan flag continues to be raised proudly on the international stage.
