“Towards Development with Young Trade Union Members” Event Held

An event titled “Towards Development with Young Trade Union Members”, dedicated to February 2 – Azerbaijan Youth Day, was organized by the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of State Institutions and Public Service Employees, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK).

The event, held at the Samad Vurgun Health and Recreation Center, was attended by representatives of AHIK and state bodies, as well as young members of trade unions.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute moment of silence in honor of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, spoke about the successful youth policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the special attention and care shown to Azerbaijani youth by President Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized the significant contribution of the social, cultural, and humanitarian projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under the leadership of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of young people and the enhancement of their role in society.

The Chairman also highlighted the purposeful and systematic initiatives implemented by AHIK in support of the youth policy carried out in the country.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva spoke about state programs and projects aimed at ensuring the physical, moral, and social development of young people. She noted that promoting a healthy lifestyle, expanding sports infrastructure, and ensuring active participation of youth in the socio-political and social life of society are among the main priorities of youth policy.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Kenan Karimzade emphasized the strategic role of education in youth development, stating that Azerbaijan’s modern education system serves to develop young people’s knowledge, skills, creativity, and professional potential, guiding them to become responsible citizens.

Acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation Yusif Valiyev spoke about efforts to stimulate youth initiatives and support socially, innovatively, and publicly significant ideas through projects, highlighting the Foundation’s contribution to increasing youth engagement, developing leadership skills, and promoting their active participation in various fields of society.

Within the framework of the event, a video presentation reflecting the reforms carried out, projects implemented, and innovations introduced within the trade union system by AHIK was shown.

Later, young participants — Hürriya Mammadova, winner of the “Road to Success” competition, Ilaha Bakhishova Tahirli, winner of the 3rd “Yüksəliş” competition, and Jamo Aliyev, an employee of the Trade Union Committee of the New Azerbaijan Party — shared their success stories with the participants.

This was followed by a panel discussion on “The Role of Youth in the Implementation of Digitalization and Innovations.”

The event continued with an artistic program.
