The Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation continues to implement systematic and consistent measures to protect the health and organize the effective rest of trade union members, ensuring the creation of modern and comfortable conditions in sanatoriums and recreation centers.
Comprehensive renovation and restoration work has also been carried out at the “Absheron” gastrointestinal sanatorium, resulting in improved conditions. Senior officials from the Confederation and various government agencies, as well as members of parliament, have visited the sanatorium to inspect the completed work.
It was noted that the medical building of the sanatorium has been completely renovated, new examination rooms meeting modern standards have been put into operation, and equipped with medical devices. The bedrooms within the building have also been refurbished in a contemporary style, new rooms have been added, and elevators have been installed.
The sanatorium’s electrical infrastructure has been renewed, and a 550 kVA generator has been installed to provide an uninterrupted power supply.
New asphalt has been laid on the internal roads of the sanatorium grounds, and the sewage system has been upgraded and connected to the main collector network. In addition, Wi-Fi internet, IP telephony, and security cameras have been installed on the premises. Trees and ornamental shrubs have been planted, and irrigation systems have been set up. The sanatorium’s medical treatment and dining services are conducted in accordance with the modern sanatorium concept.

It was reported that the “Absheron” gastrointestinal sanatorium, located on a 16.9-hectare area, has a capacity of 212 beds. The facility includes two dormitory buildings and one treatment building, as well as a conference hall, club, and dance floor. The medical complex features a clinical-diagnostic laboratory, functional diagnostics, therapeutic physical training, massage rooms, and various specialized medical offices. The sanatorium’s services include iodine-bromine baths, tubage and paraffin therapy, as well as natural mud treatments and other procedures. The sanatorium operates year-round. Since January 1, 2025, nearly 1,000 trade union members have benefited from its services.
