On April 28, new professional development trainings on “Problems in the Application of Labour Legislation” and “Problems in the Application of Social Security Legislation” commenced. The trainings are jointly organized by the Republican Committee of the Azerbaijan Free Trade Union of Education Workers (ATIAHI), a member of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (AHIK), and the Azerbaijan Academy of Labour and Social Relations (AALSR).

Saadat Aliyeva, Head of the Department for Professional Development and Retraining of Trade Union Personnel and Activists at AƏSMA, welcomed the participants and wished them success throughout the training.

Turanə Karimova, Deputy Chairperson of the ATIAHI Republican Committee, emphasized the importance of these trainings. According to her, such educational programs are crucial for the correct application of legislation and serve to protect workers’ rights and prevent labor disputes.

Ruslan Valiyev, a member of the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan and one of the trainers, provided detailed information on general aspects and key concepts of labour legislation. In the second half of the day, trainers Urfat Murshudov and Rasmiya Abdullayeva presented comprehensive information on Azerbaijan’s pension system, inclusive social protection, and social services.

Throughout the training, participants were informed through practical real-life examples, and a Q&A session was held to address their inquiries.

It is worth noting that the training involves 32 chairpersons from ATIAHI’s member organizations. The sessions will continue until May 2.
