It is one of the specialized departments of the Azerbaijan Academy of Labor and Social Relations (AALSR). The department first operated under the name of the department of “Management, State and Municipal Administration” since 2006. Since its establishment, the department has been constantly developing by expanding its personnel potential.

In total, the department consists of 26 people: 2 doctors of economic sciences, professors and acting professors, 7 doctors of philosophy in economics, associate professors, 7 doctors of philosophy in economics, 2 of whom are acting associate professors, 5 dissertation and doctoral students, 4 teachers and 1 laboratory assistant.

In 2006-2013, the department was headed by I.E.N., associate professor Ismayilov Guloglan Iskender oglu, and in 2014-2015, I.E.N., associate professor Guliyev Shovgi Bahlul oglu. The name of the department has been “Economics and Management” since 2015 and it has been headed by Professor Mohbaliyev Farhad Firudin oglu, Ph.D. in Economics. Since September 15, 2017, the department has been headed by Professor Vilayat Ibrahim oglu Ismayilov, Ph.D. in Economics.
